Norton & Co., Inc., [1967]. 8vo. 183, [1] pp. White cloth, purple lettering on spine, w/ d.j. cover art by Arthur Hawkins, author’s portrait on back cover (slight scuffing, very slight rubbing, British pricing clipped at lower corner of front flap, U.S. price of $ 4.50 still complete), NF/NF copy. First American edition, 2nd printing, of the author’s first book, a John Smith espionage thriller filled with double agents, double crosses, double deals, later re-released as “The Spy Killer.” Sangster (1927-2011) was a noted British screenwriter, director, and author, perhaps best remembered for his scripts of Dracula and Curse of Frankenstein, the first English horror movie produced in colour, and also known for his Katy Touchfeather series featuring the seductive, lethal, and ruthless agent working as an airline stewardess as cover.
