Chapters include, "Bridge of San Thornton Wilder", "The Man Who Knew Lewis", "Do Fishes Perspire?", and "Dead Novelists Are Good Novelists". With cover illustrations, and portraits by Covarrubias of Eugene O'Neill, Theodore Dreiser, Martin Johnson, Sinclair Lewis, Carl Van Vechten, William Beebe. This is the third printing of the book, but also a Special Edition of Two Hundred and Fifty Numbered Copies (this is no. 48) prepared for Mr. A. Kroch for his friends' delectation." Signed by A[dolph]. Kroch. He was the founder of Kroch's Book Store chain in Chicago.
