Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Overall a good condition item. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning. Unclipped jacket has moderate edgewear with chips, tears and creasing. Some tanning to spine. Light rubbing to surfaces. Scuffing to edges.

Pages remain clear with minimal tanning and foxing, mild to end-papers and text-block edges. Minor pencil marking to half title. Cracking to hinges, no damage to end papers. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is darkened. Unclipped jacket has moderate edge-wear with chips, tears and creasing.

London: Gerald Duckworth & Co Ltd, 1952 Book. Good. Red Cloth Boards. First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Account of the author's travels in Denmark, England and the USA, contrasting the different landscapes and architecture. Illustrated throughout with the author's own black and white photographs. Gilt lettering to spine, top edges tinted. Minor bumping to spine and corners, some foxing to fore edges and back endpapers. Former owner's name neatly inscribed to front endpaper, otherwise good copy. Unclipped DJ has some wear to edges, with 1/4" loss to top of spine and a small tear to the spine, otherwise good. Also enclosed, an original Duckworth & Co bookmark in fine condition..

A very clean very tight copy with bright boards, slight sunning to upper edge, very slight foxing to page edges and no bumping to corners. Price clipped dust jacket not creased with a little rubbing to upper edge and faint mark/indent to front. 231pp. The author, now living in New York where her husband is Danish Consul-General, returns to Denmark on holiday, staying for a time with her parents in England on the way. The contrasts between the summer landscapes of New England, the English Midlands and Denmark is one of the themes of the book. Illustrated with black & white photographs by the author..
