Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is darkened. Unclipped jacket has moderate edge-wear with chips, tears and creasing.

Gilt lettering to spine, top edges tinted. Minor bumping to spine and corners, some foxing to fore edges and back endpapers. Former owner's name neatly inscribed to front endpaper, otherwise good copy. Unclipped DJ has some wear to edges, with 1/4" loss to top of spine and a small tear to the spine, otherwise good. Also enclosed, an original Duckworth & Co bookmark in fine condition..

The contrasts between the summer landscapes of New England, the English Midlands and Denmark is one of the themes of the book. Illustrated with black & white photographs by the author..
