Description:
John Snow; Edward Moxon; Charles Gilpin; William and Robert Chambers; John Wright, 1848. Hardcover. Good. A compilation of nine disparately published titles from various publishers (detailed below), which a previous owner bound together roughly contemporary to their publication. There is a list of each book inked at front paste down, dated 1848, only two years following the date of publication of the newest of these books, which so seems likely as the approximate date that the compilation was bound together. Black half-leather, marbled paper boards - scuffed, scratched, with heavy edgewear frayed to boards. Spine rebacked with a fairly unobtrusive hinges repair which preserves most of the original leather. Interior hinges cracked; binding else intact. Dampstaining to top margin of first few pages; these pages are also foxed, with the foxing continuing only sporadically throughout the volume. Contents listing inked to front paste down, with additional bibliographic note in heavy pencil at FFEP;…
