Tokyo: Shogakukan, 1970., 1970.. Very good. - Quarto [14 inches high by 10-1/2 inches wide], decorative silver & tan paper covered boards backed wiith cream cloth & titled in gilt & red on the spine. The book is housed in a cream, green & black cardboard slipcase titled in green & black on the spine & both panels. The dust jacket is very lightly rubbed & chipped with some light soiling to the jacket spine. The slipcase is lightly rubbed, soiled & chipped with its spine & extremities darkened. 250 pages. 186 illustrations, many in full color & many full-page, together with 121 black-and-white textual illustrations, depicting Samurai armor and swords. Near fine in a very good dust wrapper & slipcase. First edition.No. 21 in the 30 volume series on Japanese arts and culture, Genshoku nihon no bijutsu [Japanese Arts in Color]. With the exception of the list of plates, which includes English translations, the text is in Japanese.
