Copyright dates vary but format of books is the same (1920-vols 3,4; 1921-vol 5; 1925-vols1,2,6); no later printings indicated. Black (or very dark green?) pebbled cloth covers with very elaborate embossed borders, gold lettering on spine and front cover, color paste-on illustration on front covers, endpaper illustration of children walking toward castle on hill overlooking the sea. Covers are almost like new with only minimal (barely visible) wear. Interiors are clean without marks or writing; slight tanning. Bindings are tight except volume 2, which is somewhat weak and loose; first signature is almost separated from textblock. A very attractive set.
