New York: Macmillan Co., 1907. 8vo. xix, [1], 431, [1] pp., plus 4 pp. publ. ads. Colour-illustrated title, colour frontisp., historiated vignettes, head-pieces, and plates throughout. Beige pictorial publisher’s cloth, beautiful Arts & Crafts cover art on front & spine by F.D. Bedford in black, red, white & gilt, colour illustrated endpapers by Bedford (very minor shelfwear, slight bumping to corners, very minor rubbing, front hinge just starting), still VG copy, w/former ownership inscription on half-title. First edition of this beautifully illustrated anthology, featuring the considerable artistic talents of Francis Darkin Bedford (1864-1954). The poets include such authors as Robert Louis Stevenson, William Blake, Shakespeare, Wordworth, Charles & Mary Lamb, Tennyson, Longfellow, and many others.
