They are fictionalized true stories mostly about convicts. The stories are about ghosts, murders and currency lads, and include some of the women who made good in the young colony of New South Wales. The first tale about Fisher’s Ghost is the best known. Theree other tales are about Aborigines. One of the 'legends' is about the builder who brought out soil from Ireland to keep the snakes away because Saint Patrick got rid of the snakes from Ireland.
