New York: A. Chandler, 1830. Hardcover. Good +. Rebound in a brown 'leatherette' binding with new (spotless) end-papers. Copyright page gives the date of October,1830. Last page (Page # 555) is a facsimile of original. Interior is moderately foxed throughout, a few pages more so. Pages are wavy - probably from decades ago exposure to damp (but no damp stains). Frontis portrait appears to be a facsimile also.Volume is very readable - a fascinating history of a fascinating man. Protected in a mylar slip.

Hardcover in full brown leather with a flat spine and decorative rules in gilt. Black leather label on the spine. The binding is rubbed and is bumped at the corners. The front hinge is just starting at the headcap, and there is some cracking at the bottom three inches on the rear hinge. Pale spotting to the outside edges of the text block. Engraved portrait frontis. A sound copy Some foxing to the endpapers; the text is generally clean. Although not mentioned in the book itself, Howes "U.S.iana" (S-91) suggests this work was edited by Robert C Sands. The listing notes the pagination of 556 pages with an errata; we see no errata in this volume and no material appears missing.
