The book is in Very Good+ condition and was issued without a dust jacket, but with a slipcase. The slipcase is in good only condition. The book and its contents are in clean, bright condition with the exception of a chip with loss of cloth to the bottom spine end (approximately 1/2 depth) . The text pages are clean and bright. The slipcase is missing the whole top edge but is otherwise in Very Good condition. "James Weldon Johnson (June 17, 1871 – June 26, 1938) was an American author, educator, lawyer, diplomat, songwriter, and civil rights activist.
