Hollywood, CA: W.M. Hawley, 1996. First Printing thus. Spiral Bound with stiff card covers as issued. Very Good. Probably the greatest book ever published on the subject. Publisher Hawley was an expert on Japanese culture. He published many things, including huge charts and posters on Japanese and Chinese language, samurai swords and cultural history. He also had an excellent collection of Japanese Samurai Swords. He lived in Los Angeles on top of a hill, with about 100 steps up as anyone who was there in the 1970s or 1980s will remember climbing. This is the First Edition for General Distribution, January 1996, which came out a few months after the small Limited Edition.
