Boston: Houghton Mifflin Riverside Press Fifteen hardcovers with dust jackets, dated 1904 -1909;---1. all books and DJs in the same Houghton Mifflin matched style, size and format: teal covers with top edge gilt and very bright and clear gilt lettering to spine, plain beige DJs with black lettering to spine (laid in to Volume XV is an old plain brown envelope with "John Burroughs" written in ink on the front, containing two newspaper clippings from 1921 regarding Burroughs' death, and a tiny four-stanza poem by Burroughs also from a newspaper;---2. books range from 249 to 355 pages, plus tissue-guarded illustrations, some full colour;---3. all books in Very Good ++ condition, very gently used, tight in binding although some ever so slightly cocked, only tiny traces of shelf wear to cover corner tips and gentle bumps to spine ends, very clean and unmarked throughout (except pencil name/address on free front endpaper of Volume I), pages surprisingly fresh and white considering… Read More
