Name of Harold C. Ball on the right front flyleaf. His cancelled check from "Whitney National Bank, Midway, Georgia" dated 1954 laid inside the front cover.

John McIntosh Kell was from Georgia and served under Admiral Semmes on the Alabama in the Confederate Navy.

There is a gift inscription to Charles Colcock Mallard from "Father" on the front end page. Charles Colcock Mallard was the son of Presbyterian Minister Rev. Robert Quarterman Mallard who was a minister of this church. A fascinating history of this church that fostered many other churches. Valuable history of early church work among the slaves by Rev. C. C. Jones, maternal grandfather of Charles Mallard, former owner of this book. Rev. Signed by James Stacy with a short inscription and dated 1911. Cover is firmly attached but both front and rear hinges are cracked. The front and rear endpaper are present, but not attached. Water stains to the bottom third of about 40 pages, which does not obsure any printing or photos. No markings, foxing or soiling to interior. Corners of boards are bumped, and board is exposed on very tip of corner. Some rubbing at head and tail of spine. Gilt on spine fairly bright and readable. Some mild discoloration to cloth over boards on back. 283 pages, with black and white photos. RARE.
