Description:
NY: Frederick A. Stokes. Good+. 1899. First Edition. Hardcover. Pictorial boards and cloth. Illustrated with 12 charming chromolithographs by Maud Humphrey and black & white illustrations by her sister, Mabel. Staining to the front board. Corners worn with boards showing. Boards also showing along with some chipping along some edges. There is some spotting, small stains to the first four leaves, front the endpaper to the first page of text. There are some ink stamps to the title page along with one of the blanks at mid-book and a bit to a couple of text pages. The color illustrations are largely very clean and nearly fine. There are two small pieces missing from the cloth spine. One is toward the upper end and measures 1/4" and another is closer to the lower end and measures 1/2". ; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall .
