Description:
New York: The Macmillan Company, 1936. 1st Edition . Hardcover. VG+/Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. The original price of $3.50 is still present on the front flap but the lower corner has been cut off. The underside of the jacket has been neatly reinforced along the top and bottom edges with masking tape. Over the decades the tape is darkened and become brittle and appears to be easily removed, though the glue has darkened the underside of the DJ as well as the pastedowns. Red cloth boards underneath her clean and bright with only minor edge bumps. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues and text pages are tight. The front pastedown contains a calling card from Mrs. Robert Somers Brookings with an address of 2700 Upton Street, which was their address.
