Some fading to the cloth colour in places, the hinges are in good order. Browing to the endpapers, light toning and marking to the pages. Contains 32 sheets of colour plates + a black and white map (plates complete). Pages; VII, (1), 196, (2). Comes with a smart 1920's card advert for Norsk Vacuum Oil Company, (loosely contained within the book). Bookplate on the endpaper, still contains A & C Black's postal card for a catalogue list loosely inserted. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall

Pages have mild tanning and foxing throughout, moderate at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Plates are bright and clear. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Moderate tanning to spine. Gilt lettering has become dull. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean.
