Philadelphia: Friends' Book-Store, 1840. Hardcover. Good. Early reprint. Originally published in 1694. Complete in one volume. liv, 672pp. Full leather with gilt lettered black title plate on spine. Preface by William Penn. Foxing throughout, joints broken with boards a bit loose but still attached, leather rubbed and worn with some chipping on edges and spine ends, good to very good. The chronicle of the often persecuted seventeenth century Quaker as told by Fox and others such as William Penn and Oliver Cromwell.

Full leather over boards, 8vo (8-5/8 inches tall), pp. [i]-liv, [55]-672, index. Volume with wear to covers, faint water stain to bottom corner of first few leaves, occasional soil and foxing within, p.o. name ffep and small glue spots with paper hymn remnant or similar, to front and rear pastedowns. George Fox was a founder of the Religious Society of Friends, more commonly known today as the Quakers.
