Hardback: 12 photographic colour plates plus illustrated title page, covers are a bit grubby, edges rubbed and corners worn, cloth spine is slightly worn on the tips, front flyleaf removed, half title is discoloured and the small illustration is coloured in, internal marks, most pages have tears which have mostly been repaired with either glue or tape or paper, it looks like the frontispiece is missing but from all references I have found there should be 12 colour plates and they are all present, illustration and border on the last page neatly coloured in, overall a well read copy. obl folio, 29pp (+ colour plates).

Front gutter seam slightly split on lower half - does not affect integrity of binding which is very tight. ; Book is in Very Good condition with attractive covers and beautiful illustrations in color and black and white endpapers. "During the 1920s and early 1930s, Rose Fyleman published multiple poetry collections, wrote plays for children, and for two years edited the children's magazine Merry-Go-Round. She also translated books from German, French and Italian. The twelve colour plates are clean and bright but there is some marginal staining and tears not affecting the pictures. The front gutter is split.. First Edition. Decorated Boards. Good.
