Description:
London: Henry Stevens, Son & Stiles, 1903. xxiv, 130 pages, +8 b&w plates of old maps (photographs of), + 2 foldout maps (line drawn). Despite its title, book seems to dwell at length on the location of Greenland and its depiction in antiquarian maps as key to its theories. The book is clean and tight; maps are in excellent condition, without tears; cover is color rubbed along edges of spine; lightly bumped at lower front cover. Pages are uncut; toned, with some showing a smattering of foxing at fore edges. Previous owner's bookplate on front pastedown endpaper. Still a nice tight book, with sound binding. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Collectible-Very Good/No Dust Jacket as Issued. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Blue Cloth Covered Boards.
