Description:
Black Sparrow Press, 1969. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine. Copy #17 of 350 numbered copies signed by Charles Bukowski and Dorbin. A very good copy in the original mustard cloth over orange boards, paper spine label; original clear plastic jacket (lower corners bumped, plastic jacket has some tears and a chip). Laid in loose are the original prospectus and publishers printed and typed review slip. SUPERB PROVENANCE: Bill Katz's copy, with his name (apparently in John Marton's hand) on the review slip. Martin and Bukowski credited Katz's reviews of POST OFFICE and other early Bukowski titles in LIBRARY JOURNAL with helping Bukowski to turn the corner in his career, making it possible for him to support himself as a writer.
