New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1925. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good+. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, black cloth boards with orange on front and spine. Exterior shows some scuffing and soiling, rear board has a couple dents in the light spot. Edges and corners show bumps/wear. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues at boards. Pages are toned due to age and there is some smudge marks and foxing present. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings. The front end page has a dark spot in the upper right section which appears to be from where and all price was once penciled and then later erased, which smeared the paper. Stated first edition on the copyright page.

A humorous colonial tale of the pirate Dixy Bull who terrorized the Pemaquid, Maine peninsula, by Maine poet, filmmaker, and journalist Day, author of Up in Maine, Squire Phin, King Spruce and others. Scarce in the first edition, especially in jacket. CONDITION: Very good, discreet private library number (242) in upper right corner of front paste-down and flyleaf; dj good with private library label numbered 242 on spine, pencil numbers on spine as well, chipping, tears and creases at extremities.
