Thomas) Donald Davie Claremont 1975." Light siling and wear, but tight and very good. Michael Schmidt in his LIVES OF THE POETS refers to Davie as "the defining poet/critic of his generation"; this book as the manifesto of The Movement, the group of writers that included, Gunn, Amis, Jennings, Larkin and many others rebelling from what was regarded as the overly romantic era of Dylan Thomas and co. Although a British poet, whose subject was invariably so, he replaced Yvor Winters at Stanford and moved to Vanderbilt before retiring back to the UK.
