Book in GOOD condition Charles Cochran was a showman of the old school. He booked theatres, hired showgirls, arranged prize-fights, toured shows, started an acting school, tried becoming a journalist; he criss-crossed the Atlantic, knew Sarah Bernhardt and Lily Langtree, and he made lots of money. But he also lost lots of money (his own and others'). The 'Good Times' slipped away, so Cochran gambled, and then loses money touring Russian Ballet and seeks new opportunities abroad. His creditors catch up with him and he is soon declared bankrupt. Ah, the showman's life … up a while, down a while. But he is an engaging writer, with an exciting story to tell!
