A very scarce study of ornamental architecture found in Italy, illustrated with detailed plates by Charles Heathcote Tatham, compiled on his travels. A very scarce work.The third edition, following the 1799 first edition, and the 1805 second edition.All editions are very rare. A series of detailed etchings by Charles Heathcote Tatham, drawn by him as he travelled around Italy in the years 1794 to 1796.Tatham started off on this expedition in 1794 with his friend Joseph Gandy, a fellow architect. He spent most of his time in Rome and Naples, making friends with the influential figures of the day, including Angelica Kauffman and her husband, Canova, Lady Emma Hamilton, and Frederick Howard, the 5th Earl of Carlisle.
