Insert signed by Lord Brassey, husband of the author to front free endpaper. Colour pull-out maps to endpapers. Black and white illustrations and plates throughout. Mild cracking to gutters on occasion. Binding remains firm with all pages attached. Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. Slightly more pronounced towards the start and end of the book. Illustrations are bright and clear, with some light tanning and foxing to edges. Faint pencil marks to front free endpaper. Some uncut pages towards the start and end of the book. Boards have mild shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Slight crushing to spine ends. Mild sunning to spine. Faint mark to top of rear board. Gilt lettering and decorations remain bright and clear.
