Gilt author, title and decoration to spine. Corners bumped. Spine extremes bumped scuffed and chipped. Light stain to front board. Shelf wear. Cracks to text block binding in several places but holding strong. Mild, age-related discoloration to text block. One dog ear and one closed tear. Western U.S. travelogue.

Philadelphia and Pittsburgh: James Kay; John I. Kay, 1834. First Printing. Hardcover. Good. 8vo, publisher's green cloth with paper spine label, good copy with boards somewhat rubbed and soiled, rubbing and wear along spine, contents good, foxing throughout, small stain on flyleaf, namestamp and signature of J. H. C. Coffin of Wheeling (then Virginia), 1855, slight restoration to rear inner hinge. Brackenridge spent most of his latter life in Pittsburgh and vicinity, having founded the town of Tarentum, 20 miles up the Allegheny River. 244 pp.

Binding has wear and scuffs to front and rear cloth covered boards, worn through at corners and some fraying at the top and bottom of the spine. Interior is mostly clean with previous owner's names on front free endpaper and first blank page.

James Kay, Jun. and Bros., 1834. Hardcover. Good. 12mo in green cloth, paper spine label. Good to Very Good: binding tight and square, rubbing at the corners and spine ends, spine label chipped but entirely legible, light foxing throughout.
