In writing this fast moving account of the famed V & T, the authors spent the summer of 1948 aboard their private car "the Gold Coast." The fame of this road rivaled the mines that furnished ore for the cars that ran to the huge silver mills along the Carson River. In 1938 the rails to Virginia City were uprooted after 79 years of operation. This book captures the memory of those glory days. A nice copy.
