The boards show some light rubbing and a couple of spots of soiling. Some bumping to the corners, top and bottom of spine. Light slant to the spine, it is otherwise solid and firm. Interior text block is age toned, but straight and firmly attached to the spine. . Jacket Condition: No Jacket. Size: 8vo - over 7 3/4 in - 9 3/4 in tall. Year: 1942.

NY: Macmillan, 1942. Later printing in original tan buckram lettered in dark brown. Endpapers illustrated with examples of various brands. Inscribed presentation copy from the wife of author John P. Hale with card tipped to the half-title page that reads: "Dear -- John and I appreciate your finding us a place to sleep. We had never slept on a park bench but we thought our time had come. Thank you so much. Genevieve M. Hale." Brands from the two authors are burned into the bottom of the textblock. Very good in a fair dust jacket with large chip missing from the back panel..
