Blue publisher’s cloth, gilt lettering on spine (very slight bumping to couple corners, very light edgewear), w/ d.j. (minor chipping head & foot of spine, 1 very small tear lower fore-edge front cover), NF/VG copy. First edition of this memoir by this noted African-American who served as assistant and butler to Theodore Roosevelt and his family during his time in office. Amos (1879-1953), accompanied Roosevelt on his later hunting expeditions nursed him back to health after being shot, and would later become the second African-American FBI agent in 1921.
