Pittsburgh: Observer Press, 1937. First printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/very good. First printings, 1936, 1937, of two volumes by this well known Pittsburgh poet. Once Upon a Time is hardback in dust jacket, fine copy in VG dust jacket with light wear and soil, inscribed by Phillips to Mr and Mrs Joseph Trees (well known oil and gas baron and local philanthropist). Included in this volume is a program for the Bookfellows' Library Guild from 1933 honoring Phillips and within this program are 14 loosely inserted printed poems (small poem broadsides) each of which is signed by Phillips. The other book, Mary of Scotland, bound in deep blue marbled cloth, is in fine condition, no jacket, pages unopened and uncut.
