N.p. [Amsterdam]: Willy Scholte [Stempelplaats], 1970s-1980s. Various sizes, most cards approximately 10.5 x 15.5 cm. Loose, some cards with original mailing envelopes. Excellent condition. Willy (Wilhemina) Scholte was one of very few women working at the Stempelplaats workshop in the late 1970s and early 1980s, close to the heart of Dutch Mail Art activity. She became involved in the avant-garde mail art happening there, and was inspired by artists like Ulises Carrion and Aart van Barneveld.

These cards are beautiful examples of the work she created while at the workshop. Many of the cards are signed by Willy, and some are titled with individual or series names such as "Sun's Suicide", "bellelibelle", "Arboretum", "The Last Bird", and "Kerk-gangsters". Many are also stamped or printed Stempelplaats. Included are six original mailing envelopes addressed to Bart Boumans in Amsterdam, each bearing a large round rubber stamp which reads "My Miles = Mail = Art - Willy Scholte".

A collection of stunning, colorful, and ephemeral mail art.
