About This Item
New York, 1927. unbound. very good(+). 1 page, 11 x 8.5 inches, 1040 Lexington Avenue, New York City, docketed in pencil January 1927 to Jim [Hastings], touching base after a lapse of communication, in full: "It has taken a week for your letter to follow me to my new home here at 1040 Lexington Avenue -- don't forget the new address. Wish I could join your table at the Explorer's Club Dinner but I am at George Putnam's table already. As soon as I finish cutting this blinking picture I am going to pull you out of your lair and we will go on a large party -- at any rate pretty large." Note: the movie Cooper was working on was his second credited feature titled "Chang." The Explorer's Club Dinner was eventful for Cooper as is evident in a Library of Congress photograph of him sitting with Putnam and fellow aviator Amelia Earhart. Condition: docketed in pencil by Hastings "W.C. Cooper" and by his secretary who has written a phone number. Natural fold; very good(+) condition.

American adventurer who wrote, directed, and produced the 1933 motion picture classic "King Kong." He was also a pioneer aviator, Brigadier General, Chief-of-staff to General Chennault, and co-inventor of the Cinerama film projection process.
