About This Item

New York: The Palestine Arab Refugee Office, 1956. Wraps. Fine. 8.5 x 5.5 inches, softcover, 6 pp. including rear wrap. Fine. Guillaume (1888-1965) was a British Christian Arabist and an Old Testament scholar who had deep connections with Arab and Muslim communities thanks to years spent in Beirut and Damascus. In this he disputes the modern Jewish idea that the Old Testament substantiates Jewish title to the Holy Land. Rare in the trade, this leaflet is well represented in institutions.
