Later printing (seventh). Red cloth boards with black embossedl lettering. Square with solid binding, light edgewear. The interior is clean and free of any markings, with some age-darkening. The unclipped paper dustjacket has original $3.95 price and shows some wear and chipping. Protected in mylar. Overall, a very nice reading copy. Shaw's first novel is one of the finest narratives to come out of WW 2. Later adapted for the outstanding 1958 film with Marlon Brando, Montgomery Clift and Dean Martin. Carefully packaged and shipped in a box.
