In maroon full calf leather fine binding by “Ramage.” With gilt panelled boards, raised banding to spine with gilt decorations, and gilt lettering to dark green leather spine label. Marbled endpapers and page edges. In very good condition. Spine slightly darkened with some minor rubbing to ends. A couple of minor bumps and handling marks to boards. Else cover clean and smart. Prize bookplate to front endpaper “Aske’s Hatcham Schools, London, K da Cruz, 1902.” Binders stamp to edge of front endpaper. Some mild light foxing to prelims and a few inside pages. Else pages overall very clean and tight. Else a very good clean and tight copy. 384pp. Illustrated with twelve full-page B&W plates by C.J. Staniland.
