Paper title plate on cover in VG condition, the one on the spine chipped bottom edge, but all letters of title readable along with most of author's name. Spine bands and panel edges somewhat rubbed and dust-toned as with age. Remains quite well-preserved overall: tight, bright, clean and strong. ; 8vo 8"" - 9"" tall; 193 pages; Physical desc. : 193 p. : ill. ; 20 cm. Subject: Slaves - West Indies - Fiction. Notes: A novel set in Martinique during the old colonial days, before the outbreak of the 1848.
