About This Item

Alhambra, Ca.: C. F. Braun & Co., 1952. 193pp, endpaper maps. Decorativer papered boards in pink, purple and orange with laid on pictorial title label. Spine sunned. Slipcase somewhat faded with several scrapes/chips. Attractive copy of this privately printed edition. One of Hearn's early works, predating his later, and more famous books on Japan and the Japanese. The story of a Martinique slave girl. Colophon states printed in the company lithograph shop of CF Braun & Co. Only date I can find is December, 1951 as date of Braun's foreword, hence am making the assumption of early 1952 printing. No indication of this being a later printing.. First Thus. Hard Cover. Very Good/Slipcase. 8vo.
