Australian War Memorial, Canberra, 1946. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good/No Dust Jacket. editorial note and list of illustrations. Illustrated endpapers showing the three services on historic times through to time of book. Coloured illustrated frontispiece, by Colin Colahan 'Australian Victory March Contingent Passing the Cenotaph in Whitehall'. The text is illustrated with numerous coloured and black and white illustrations, halftone photographs, cartoons and sketches. All illustrations done by either serving or past serving military personnel. Green coloured cloth covered boards with copper coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Small illustration on the front panel of 3 men. Australian military history as seen by its members. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners and lower book edges. Rubs, marks and stains to the book panels. Age toning of the text block edges with the occasional foxing spots also present. Very light age toning of the pages. This is the first Australian edition. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall. 202 pages,.
