About This Item
McGraw-Hill, 1976-01-01. Hardcover. Very Good. 8x5x1. Signed, "October 1, 1977, Arcata, Raymond Carver." Book pages are immaculate, tightly bound. Outer wear: a little rubbing to lower spine. DJ looks good in new lined mylar protector; has ever so slight browning of the white paper, one short (1/2 inch) closed tear at upper edge front panel, quite slight wear otherwise. The blue publisher's dye on the upper page edges has a slight bit of bleed to text face, first few pages; a minor flaw only.
Synopsis
Raymond Carver was born in Clatskanie, Oregon, in 1938. His first collection of stories, Will You Please Be Quiet, Please (a National Book Award nominee in 1977), was followed by What We Talk About When We Talk About Love, Cathedral (nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in 1984), and Where I'm Calling From in 1988, when he was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He died in August of that year, shortly after completing the poems of A New Path to the Waterfall.
