First edition, first printing. x, 284 pp. 32 full page plates from photographs by Huber, Taber, Le Conte and the Pillsbury Picture Co.; 3 folding maps. Bound in publisher's dark green cloth with gilt, periwinkle, and royal blue stamping, top edge gilt. Slight bump to head, former owner's name on paste down, else Fine. All fold-out maps and plates present in nice shape. A lovely copy.
Famous conservationist John Muir's book of his beloved Yosemite Valley; he had been instrumental in getting it declared a national park. BAL 14767.
