Pages are browned. In fanning through pages, I saw a couple of pencil marks which appear to be place markers. June 1913 publication. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall

This is a Very Good (Minus) copy of the First American Edition, by an unusual publisher, which precedes the English printing by a year. Red cloth binding with titling and the godly figure on the front cover in gilt; titling in black on the spine.Clean text; 320 pages, with some stains on a few pages in the front. Frontis illustration and two others within by Frank T. Merrill. An interesting inclusion is a Red Cross Christmas stamp from 1908 on the front paste-down. Mild wear; some stray spots/marks to covers; spine is darkened; gilt on front cover dulled but perfectly readable. A serviceable copy, perfectly sound but not the most beautiful. In an archival plastic protector.. First American Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good (Minus)/No Jacket. Illus. by Frank T. Merrill. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Bound, in 1924, in a half leather binding with gilt title and decorations to spine. Paper embrowned but complete. Previous owner's name and "Rebound 21/6/24" on early blank before half title on which he has written his name & address. For reasons now unknown he has also written his name and address on the same page as the publisher's imprint and drawn a small dog in the top margin of page 27.
