[1972]. 8vo, 95pp. Color pictorial paper wrappers. Illustrations throughout in b&w. First edition, paperback issue. Originally written by Ruth Plumly Thompson in 1959, the book was not published at the time by Reilly & Lee due to flagging sales of the Oz books. This edition from 1972, produced by the International Wizard of Oz club, is the first time this tale was issued Done with the blessing of the successor company to Reilly & Lee, Henry Regnery Company, the book, at the request of the illustrator, Dick Martin, was produced at 92 pages of text with a 8 ½ x 11 trim size to reduce the number of required illustrations and to ensure that they were printed at close to the size of the originals he had produced.
