About This Item
New York: Ziff Davis Media Inc., 1998. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Soft cover. As New. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. As New, quite literally. See scans and description. Shipped in a box; no bag for this one. New York: Ziff Davis Media Inc., 1998. The December, 1998 Issue (Volume 4, Number 12) of Yahoo! Internet Life magazine. Marina Sirtis cover, as part of this ' Star Trek On the Net Collector's Issue' of the internet-exploring publication. Quarto, illustrated perfect-bound wraps, a hearty 218 pp. New, and that does mean new, even though this example is from 1998. Two tiny short hairlines at cover left (scan), otherwise Flawless, even including the laid-in cardstock subscription offers. Literally better than the typical one you'd pull off a shelf today. See scans. Now defunct, Yahoo! Internet Life (use of "Yahoo!" was licensed to publisher Ziff- Davis) was known for pushing the edges a bit in its field - which was, specifically, shining a light ahead on the internet railroad - during its brief life (late nineties - 2002). Ziff-D brought in name contributors to do that. See contents for details. Clearly the featured topic herein is Star Trek (on the net), with plenty of interviews and photos, those of Ms. Sirtis being certainly the most...engaging, but contributions on and from Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, and Rick Berman as well. Other topics include the 1998 Cybersex Torture Case; Slow-Load Browsers an sites; a visit to a Chinese Internet Cafe; Roger Ebert's take on overly-frilly e-mail; and of course more - see scans of both contents pages for details. A collectible genre piece of computer, internet, and publishing history, in primo condition. For your hardcopy Cyber-Library. Not to mention your Star Trek-Sirtis collection - your friends definitely will never have it. Very scarce in any condition. See scans. Shipped in a sturdy, new, protective box; no bags here. LPR18
