Guido Luzzatti (1918-2017) was a noted Italian-Jewish Radiologist. He graduated from the University of Milan in 1942, despite the Leggi Razziali, which were laws passed by the Fascist Italian Government that were in effect from 1938-1945. These laws permitted racial discrimination of Italian Jews. He practiced medicine in Milan until 1943 when he was forced to flee to Switzerland. He returned to Milan in 1945 and collaborated with Marcello Cantoni for the Jewish Health Organization (OSE). He specialized first in respiratory illness, then switched to radiology, which became his sole focus for majority of his career.
