Publisher's vellum (parchment) over boards, with printed paper spine labels. Engraved bookplate to each volume (Micajah Pratt Clough) by Edwin Davis French. Brief (3/4") split to base of front joint, Vol. 1; mild abrasion and soil to a few of the spine labels; still a tight, clean, Near Fine set overall. BAL 5815, noting the trade issue only.
