London: The Sylvan Press, 1945. First edition. Hardcover. Biro. 168pp. Octavo [22 cm] Black cloth over boards with a gilt stamped title on the spine, and a gilt stamped design on the front cover. Very good. The spine ends and edges of the covers are bumped and rubbed, and the pages are tanned. In a very good dust jacket, with darkening, more so at the jacket's spine, and chipping at the edges and folds. Wood engravings by Biro. Twenty short stories. A first edition in a nice dust jacket.
