About This Item
Hardcover with dust jacket, published by The Free Press, 1997. The dust jacket is intact, though it has been price clipped. This is a second printing copy. 408 pages with Index, Notes, References and Bibliography. An unusual book about WWII, in that the author is focused on the reactions of the soldiers to battle experiences; how they treated each other, what they thought of the enemy, how they thought of home and the battle experience itself. The dust jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. No wear to report to the jacket besides the price clip. Off-white colored boards over red cloth covered spine with the author and title in gold on the spine. The boards are flat and the corners are not bumped or creased. This is not a remainder, not a library discard. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. There are some age foxing spots on the top edges of the text block, and a finger smudge mark on the fore edge from use. The attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory, not a stock photo.
