New York: Morrow, 1965. First Edition. Hardcover. Near fine/very good. 8vo (9-1/2" x 6"). 160pp. Inscribed on half-title page by author. Includes three letters and envelopes to this fan. 1) 6/22/65 from Thelma Lyon (secretary) thanking the fan for a sperm whale tooth he had sent and mentioning that Mr. Gardner is out of town. 2) 7/2/65 From author (signed on personal stationary) thanking fan again for tooth, asking fan to reply to several questions and stating that he is sending the fan a copy of "The World of Water". 3) 8/5/65 from Thelma Lyon thanking fan for a booklet on ivory (probably in response to letter #2) and explaining that he is out of town again working on another book about "The World of Water. Scans of letters available upon request. Slight shelf wear to head of spine, 1/4" scrape to tail. Text block tight and unmarked. Unclipped DJ in Mylar, 1/16" chips to head/tail of spine, foxing to DJ which is more apparent on back panel.
