Large Hardcover Book and Slipcase in Fine Condition. Lavishly illustrated. Brown leather over spine with gilt titles, light tan cloth boards. Very clean and unmarked, tight and solid, square with sharp corners. Endpapers with sketches in black and white chalk on gray-blue paper, done by Copley as preparatory sketches for his vivid battle scene The Death of Major Peirson. Slipcase with paste-on detail illustration of Copley's 'Boy With A Squirrel'. A beautiful book of Copley's life, work, and the times in which he lived. 192 pages with Chronology of Artists, Bibliography, and Index. 12 x 9 inches. Time-Life Books, Alexandria, VA, 1977.
