Blackie & Sons,, 1890.. Leather Bound. Used, good. Eight volume set, complete. Condition of individual volumes is good to very good. Half-bound in light brown leather, boards covered in very attractive red, light brown and blue marbled paper, matching endpapers, gilded upper page edges, spines have elaborate gold design and red and brown title bands; published between 1888 and 1890 by Black & Sons, illustrations by Gordon Browne. CONDITION. All volumes have sound textblock and are unmarked., edges rubbed, leather worn through on tips of corners to a greater or lesser degree, a couple of volumes have very minor foxing on first page. ALSO: Voiume 1--front hinge about half split. Volume 6--leather split along the upper third of front hinge. Volume 7--a small gouge on spine is just large enough to have removed the volume number. Volume 8--front cover is separated from textblock, 1" x 3/4# piece of cover missing from bottom of spine. Set is rated only "good" due to the volume in the poorest condition.
